Why does a smaller guitar have to mean a shorter scale? Most compact guitars start by shortening the scale length. With the Microcaster TE, we started somewhere else. We kept the full 25.5-inch scale players know and love and reduced the body by approximately 20%. The result is a guitar that's shorter overall, lighter, and more comfortable—without changing the scale or the way it feels in your hands. We made the guitar smaller. Not the scale.
